2016 Seattle Slew Cabernet Sauvignon, Columbia Valley
Now SOLD OUT. Our new world style 2016 Seattle Slew hits the exacta with the perfect combination of Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot. Three forces of nature combine here French Creek, Quintessence and StoneTree vineyards. Love the pedigree on this Washington bred.
Outstanding, Jeb Dunnuck: Spiced currants, tobacco, chocolate, and leafy herb notes define the nose, and it's another creamy, round, lush wine from this estate that's handled the longer elevage nicely. It's pleasure-bent and ideal for drinking over the coming decade. 90 points. (May 2021)
Accolades from previous release:
Double Gold, 96 Points Sunset Magazine (May 2019)
Double Gold Medal, Seattle Wine Awards (May 2019)
Gold Medal, Great Northwest Invitational Wine Comp (October 2018)
Outstanding, Owen Bargreen: this Cabernet Sauvignon starts with oaky overtones with black fruits, black tea and milk chocolate coming through on the nose. The texture is soft and round, as the wine shows a nice mouthfeel and smooth texture. Black tea, blackberry cobbler and mocha flavors fill the glass. While not highly complex, this is pretty delicious. 90 points. (August 2018)
